I make over $50k per year on YouTube, all from a few hours a week

Sounds impossible? I know, I used to think it was as well. I was just like you, busy, busy, busy. Never having time to do anything outside of work or family life, but desperately wanting to make changes, to become financially independent, and achieve that ever elusive work life balance.

Between full time work, 4 young kids and married life, it seemed I never had a chance to do anything on my YouTube channel.

Add to this all the bad advice I got about how to 'do YouTube'...

Eventually I realised I was 'doing YouTube' compeltely wrong - I was focussing on views, subscriber counts, chasing trends and all those other things they tell you to do. And you know where it got me? Pretty much nowhere.

What Changed?

Focussing on 'growth' was getting me nowhere, fast. Instead, I switched tact and focussed on what I actually wanted, which was income. Growth is great, but let's face it, 99.9% of YouTubers want income.

So how do we earn money from YouTube? Broadly speaking, there's 3 ways, and I was doing it the hard way.

• Adsense + Sponsors
• Digital Sales
• Client Consultations

Which is the hard way? Adsense (views) and Sponsors. Chasing this is really hard work, and for the majority, leads to burnout and failure.

So I made digital products - ebooks, and otherwise focussed on promoting my main business and getting more clients, and quickly I started getting clients, and my income jumped by $50k / year extra , for less work!

How Can You Do It?

It's quite easy really, but I cover it in great detail in my YouTube Accelerator course 🚀

The first thing to do is to get organised - this is why I created my Notion System, which you can as well - Creator-OS ⚛️.

The next is to work out - "What do I want to achieve?". This might sound obvious, but some reflection goes a long way.

Then we think about 'how can we achieve that?''

And finally we start making content that aligns with our goals.

Is It Really That Easy?

It will take work on your part, but it's certainly achievable. All you need is the right guidance.

Here's a simple example that might get you started:

• Goal: Earn $30,000 / year extra
• How?: Get more clients – each client is worth $300
• What My Job?: I'm an Immigration Lawyer
• Clients Needed: 100 clients per year (or ~10 per month) - with 2 months off
• Strategy:

• - Improve outreach via social media and YouTube
• - Use call-to-actions in videos to drive sign-ups
• - Leverage existing audience and email list
• - Offer limited-time packages or bonuses to encourage sign-ups

• Content Pillars:
  • - Education & Legal Basics (e.g. "What is a bridging visa and how does it work?")
  • - Case Studies & Success Stories (e.g. "How we helped Maria get her PR in under 6 months")
  • - Tips, Updates & News (e.g. "What to do if your visa is expiring soon")
  • - Lifestyle & Motivation (e.g. “Day in the life of an immigrant family”)

• Time Commitment: Approx. 5-10 hours per week for content, outreach, and onboarding
• Automation Tools: Use booking software, email automation, and pre-built systems (like Creator OS)
• Progress Tracking: Weekly and monthly client sign-ups, income earned, and conversion rates from content
• End Goal: Consistent, low-effort income through streamlined client acquisition

So you can see how we quickly got to where we needed to be, but what if this laywer wants to make tech videos because it's their passion? Isn't that what you're meant to do on YouTube? Well yes, but...is that going to get this immigration laywer more clients? Probably not. They should focus on getting more clients, so all content is geared towards that, then they can explore their YouTube hobby channel with all the free time they'll have!
